We have all talked about who would do what this year, and I doubt the results of these awards will change the minds of some fanatics out there... but here are the winners when the votes were counted.
Hart Trophy
Alexander Ovechkin - Washington Capitals
Finalists
Pavel Datsyuk - Detroit Red Wings
Evgeni Malkin - Pittsburgh Penguins
I think it could have gone to any one of the three. But none are more individually dominant than Ovechkin, on a consistent basis. Two yrs in a row for O-V.
Lester B. Pearson Award
Alexander Ovechkin - Washington Capitals
Finalists
Pavel Datsyuk - Detroit Red Wings
Evgeni Malkin - Pittsburgh Penguins
Exactly the same as the Hart, not surprising. Ovechkin's the first player to get this award in back-to-back years since Jagr in 1998-99 and 99-2000.
Vezina Trophy
Tim Thomas - Boston Bruins
Finalists
Niclas Backstrom - Minnesota Wild
Steve Mason - Columbus Blue Jackets
All three of them benefit from a good defensive system in front of them, but all are stellar goalies. Thomas deserves this award. He was great this year. I hope he's not another Jim Carey.
James Norris Trophy
Zdeno Chara - Boston Bruins
Finalists
Mike Green - Washington Capitals
Nicklas Lidstrom - Detroit Red Wings
I wonder if Lidstrom went to get up, just out of habit. I, personally, think Chara's the best D in the league. Most complete in every area.
Calder Trophy
Steve Mason - Columbus Blue Jackets
Finalists
Bobby Ryan - Anaheim Ducks
Kris Versteeg - Chicago Blackhawks
He deserves it, but so did Ryan.
Lady Byng Trophy
Pavel Datsyuk - Detroit Red Wings
Finalists
Zach Parise - New Jersey Devils
Martin St.Louis - Tampa Bay Lightning
For the 4th straight season, Datsyuk has won the LAdy Byng. He truly is now the Lady of the NHL, officially.
Frank J. Selke Trophy
Pavel Datsyuk - Detroit Red Wings
Finalists
Mike Richards - Philadelphia Flyers
Ryan Kesler - Vancouver Canucks
Second year in a row for this award in Datsyuk's possession. Looks like he might be taking it home for years to come, but if guys like Richards and Kesler keep getting better, who knows?
Jack Adams Trophy
Claude Julien - Boston Bruins
Finalists
Todd McLellan - San Jose Sharks
Andy Murray - St.Louis Blues
Julien deserved it, nobody expected Boston to do as well as they did this year. Even with a second round loss, their regular season was far beyond expectations. We will see if they can keep up the standards next season.
Bill Masterson Trophy
Steve Sullivan - Nashville Predators
Finalists
Chris Chelios - Detroit Red Wings
Richard Zednik - Florida Panthers
All showed a lot of commitment to play hockey, but I guess coming back after being out for almost 2 yrs and countless back surgeries takes the cake... errr... the masterson.

The Bruins get rewarded in 3 categories for their great first 82 games. It will be interesting to see if they can duplicate the success next year after they had most of their lineup have career years. (and the Lucic steriods scandal passes, you heard it here first)
No surprize on OV's hardware. He is definitely the best player in the world. Little surprized Kesler was only nominated once. After reading G_O's posts I thought he should have gotten everything except the Vezina.
