Both Luke Schenn and Niklas Hagman left Saturday nights game against the Washington Capitals, due to injuries.
Luke Schenn is expected to miss at least the next two weeks with an undisclosed lower body injury. His injury happend early on in the game, on an innocent hit from Alexander Ovechkin. He came out for one more shift in the 2nd period, before leaving the game.
Schenn is going to be replaced by a call up, and the early candidates right now are Jaime Sifers, and Steffan Kronwall.
Hagman also left the game on Saturday after taking a knee to the head. He could be ready for Mondays game against the Islanders, but if he isn't cleared to play he is also expected to be replaced by a call up.
Both Jeremy Williams, and Jiri Tlusty have been playing well for the Leafs affiliate team, the Toronto Marlies and could be called up to fill in for Niklas Hagman.
With Hagman out, Toronto's talented and speedy second line that consists of Hagman-Grabovski-Kulemin will be broken up. I would personally like to see Toronto's recent addition Lee Stempniak placed on the line with Grabo and Kulemin. Stepmniak, like Hagman, plays a speedy style, and should fit in well, or maybe even better than Hagman.
